About Sharing the Dream: Sharing the Dream is a South Dakota based nonprofit that provides fair wages and employment opportunities to low-income artisans in Guatemala. They have partnerships with more than 20 cooperatives and small businesses. The artisans specialize in traditional Maya techniques. Purchase support the artisans, as well as educational opportunities, an elder center that feeds and provides medical care for over 60 Maya elders, educational scholarships for elementary, middle and high school students, financial support for a medical center and a health promoter in the jungle, an inn for volunteers, tour groups, and locals and direct financial support for things such as water, roofs, floors and stoves.
